Cooper comes to the Mainers after his sophomore year as a Commodore at Vanderbilt University. This season will be Cooper’s second season with the Mainers. Last season with the Mainers, Cooper hit .274 and appeared in the 2012 All-Star Game in the outfield. He also helped avoid elimination in the first round of the playoffs in game 2 with a towering home run; his only home run on the season. As a freshman he finished with a .222 batting average in 18 at bats for the Commodores. In high school, Cooper was named 2011 Division II Middle/East All-Region Player of the Year. He was also named to the Chattanooga Times Free Press Baseball Best of Preps First Team, and the Greater Chattanooga Tennessee FCA Athlete of the year nominee.
